Your tracking information is going to be provided prominently on your shipping receipt which is why it’s such a good idea to keep track of this information when you drop your FedEx package in the post. You’re going to get tracking information that you can use to locate your FedEx package as it moves through the logistical infrastructure of this company. Regardless of whether or not you are sending FedEx Ground packages, FedEx Freight packages, or FedEx Air packages – or something else entirely – it makes no difference. Unlike packages with the United States Postal Service (USPS) where you might get tracking information and you might not, depending on the service you choose, every single FedEx shipment is going to be tracked 100% of the time through unique identifying numbers. With this much movement throughout their infrastructure it’s not at all unreasonable for some packages to get lost in the shuffle every now and again – and that’s what is likely to happen when you get a “no scheduled delivery date available at this time” message when tracking your FedEx packages.īelow we dig a little bit deeper into the ins and outs of FedEx tracking, shining a light on the subject so that you know exactly what you need to do to either find, better track, or claim your package if this message pops up.īetter Understanding FedEx Tracking Information Today the company handles millions and millions of packages every day, shipping them not only across the country but also around the world. No longer explicitly an expedited delivery service, FedEx has a diverse range of shipping options for their customers to take advantage of. Over the years, though, FedEx has “feathered the edges” a little bit when it comes to the services that they offer. Just had to vent a bit after finding that official definition and knowing that Analogue is shipping all their Analogue Pocket systems via FedEx starting today. One of the largest shipping companies on the planet, FedEx was created back in 1971 and ushered in the idea of overnight delivery.įedEx was able to carve out a huge chunk of market share in the shipping industry by promising that they were the ones to trust “when it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight” – a promise that catapulted them to tremendous success. I wonder if FedEx is going to be hurting a bit after this holiday season as it seemed like a lot of retailers put their eggs in FedEx's basket this year compared to the past, and they dropped it compared to everyone else. On the extremely rare occasion a package goes missing, but I've never had two packages in limbo at the same time even factoring in the holiday craziness.Įvery other shipping company has been more or less reliable this holiday season except FedEx and when I decided to look more in to it, I see that meaningless status definition and find it pretty annoying that is how they define it. Usually if there's a shipping problem, it's maybe delayed by a day. I also cannot recall ever having such problems from a shipping company other than Amazon Logistics and even those don't happen anymore as their problems likely stemmed from when they were still ramping up their courier service. I can't tell what's worse, one that it somehow getting updated being only "In Transit" or the one that went dark suddenly. So from 8th through today, I've had multiple updates a day of it being "In Transit". Again for those who don't know the geography, Sacramento is a two hour drive away. ![]() From the 7th to the 11th it was stuck "In Transit" with up to two updates a day with that status but then after the 11th, it went silent.Ģ) The second package was shipped out of Kentucky on Nov 29th and was making regular progress until it hit Sacramento on the 7th, which the last notable update was it departed from there. It arrived there on the 6th, and then quicklly Departed about an hour later. Nope, for some reason they routed it to Tracy which is a 45 min drive East, so totally out of the way. One would think it would arrive the next day since it was shipped local. It's a 35 min drive heading south on the freeway. For those not familiar with the geography, it's not very far. Even worse is FedEx customer service has no idea where a package is either when it is in transit since all they know is what the tracking info tells them which seems pretty useless since anyone can tell that from looking at their own tracking number.ġ) The first package was sent on Dec.
